A tiffany ring, from friend to lovers

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Last week I had an unforgettable trip with an intimate friend to an amusement park. We had fun in almost all the items in the park but the most impressive one in my opinion was the 4-d film. It was a treasure story: with the mysterious music sounding, there appeared the magnificent world of deep bottom of the sea. I could feel the flow of the seawater, and the movement of uncountable small fishes and other sea creatures. After that there were suddenly a great amount of treasures poured upon us: rings, necklaces, and diamonds, nearly all of us could not help standing up toward them. When a ring reached my face I suddenly heard the shout of my friend: “I will get it for you Abigail! It is a Tiffany! Would you let me put it on your finger?”

I didn’t quite catch his word at that time but later thinking back, I was suddenly startled. Certainly we could not really catch any of the treasures, but the words of my friend stuck in my mind. Oh, what a romantic thing it would be if someone really sent me a Tiffany ring! But I immediately said to myself: what are you thinking about? He is just a good friend, a friend who can play with you and accompany you through any difficulties. But that’s all. And I laughed a little silently, letting the idea passing.

We had lunch together that day in an expensive restaurant in the amusement park. Yes, things are always expensive in tourist spots, but I didn’t want to appear too stingy before my friend now that he suggested it. I ordered a plate of boiled rice and went to the counter. But the moment I reached out my hand with money, it was pressed down. Turning around I found my friend smiling. “Let me treat you to the meal.”

While eating he said all of a sudden: “Do you remember the Tiffany ring in the film?” “Sure. It was wonderful.” “You want one in real?” “Haha, will you buy one for me?” “Well Abigail, I don’t have the money now but I can do that maybe later.” “Oh? You are joking again, right Harley?” “No, I am serious this time. Well I am gonna be direct. Abigail, I like you, would you be my girlfriend? I cannot afford a Tiffany by now but I will work hard to earn it.”

And I was so moved. “Sure, you have always been a good friend and I believe that you can also be a good boyfriend. Take me!”

From that day on we were lovers.

A Promise

Monday, December 28th, 2009

On a sunny afternoon, Lily a lovely little girl met Dan, who was two years older than her on her way back home. She fell down because she failed to notice a big stone in front of her. Her feet ached, so she sat on the ground, crying. After a while, Dan walked towards her. The boy comforted her and helped her stand up. After that, they became good friends.

Coincidentally, they studied in the same primary school. Therefore, they went back home together every day. They both liked to sit around a lake, enjoying some ducks swimming in it. They also liked sitting together and stared at the blue, clear sky. At the time, Dan would tell many interesting stories to Lily, because he liked to see Lily’s smile very much.

Time they spent together flew quickly. They studied in the same school till they graduated from high school. However, one afternoon, Lily heard a piece of bad news from Dan. It was that Dan had to go abroad to study for three years. They both knew what did three years mean to them. It was obvious that they had fallen in love with each other, but none of them told the truth.

Lily pretended to say “Congratulations” to Dan, because it was anyway a good chance to study abroad. They sat together along the lake for a long time silently. Before they said “Goodbye”, Dan hugged Lily and asked her to wait for him. He said he would come back to find her. Lily nodded. Her eyes were full with tears, but she controlled. She didn’t want to show how sad she was at that moment. She said “All right, I’ll wait for you.” To them, it was a promise.

Three years past, they both remembered that afternoon and the promise. One day, Lily was informed that someone was waiting for her along the lake. Something was hidden inside. About 100 meter’s far away, she saw a handsome guy standing there. It was Dan! She walked towards him very quickly. As soon as Dan saw Lily, he ran to her, like a child. They hugged together. After a while, Dan took a tiffany ring from his pocket, and wore it to Lily’s middle figure. Looking at each other, they sat down and told each other what happened during former three years.
